DAMARISCOTTA — Healthy Kids 19th annual Strawberry Shortcake Shuffle 5k/Walk will be will be held Saturday, July 9, at the Great Salt Bay School in Damariscotta. The race starts at 8:30 a.m. An out and back course is well marked, and the race is professionally timed.

All runners and walkers will receive a runner’s belt and custom lip balm with sunscreen.

“And there is always homemade strawberry shortcake for all,” said organizers, in a news release.

Prizes will be given out in age categories.

The race supports the programs of Healthy Kids and is sponsored by Kieve/Wavus Education, Bath Savings Institution, and Renys. Strawberry sponsors include Colby and Gale, Lifespan Family Health Care, Tidewater Telecom and Newcastle Realty.

Registration is $27.50 ahead of time or $35 the day of the race. To register online go to www.healthykidsmaine.org.
