From screen rivals to IRL style BFFs

There's no denying it: Euphoria was one of the biggest tv shows of the past year, with many of us tuning in eagerly every Sunday night for an hour of nail-biting chaos. The show has made bonafide stars out of a formerly "up-and-coming" cast including Zendaya, Angus Cloud, Dominic Fike and Hunter Schafer.

While we don't know so much about what is on the slate for season 3, we've been given a rumoured release date of 2024 and some hints that we may see more of what goes on with the cast "out of high school". The one certainty? BDSM fashion queen Kat Fernandez, played by Barbie Ferreira, won't be returning. Boo!

But while one cast member won't be coming back to the show, two of the series' other cast members put on a united front on the red carpet at Venice Film Festival, even twinning their chic, sleek looks. Yep, at the premiere of Bones & All, which saw Timothée Chalamet rock a seriously stunning red, backless jumpsuit, Sydney Sweeney and Maude Apatow were also on hand for a dose of matching glamour.

The duo play on-screen sisters Cassie and Lexi Howard on Euphoria but have also been pretty outspoken about their off-screen friendship, with Sydney describing Maude as "the sister I always wished I had” in an interview with People. On the red carpet, they were serving some major BFF energy while posing for cameras and fans together.

Both actresses were dressed in Giorgio Armani black gowns with Maude wearing a strapless full-length dress and Sydney rocking a silky gown with a dramatic bow detail at the neckline. Maude wore her hair in a wavy, side-parted bob with bold red lipstick and Sydney smoky eyeshadow and a half up-do, with some of her pulled back by a bow.

The looks were particularly interesting due to how coordinated they were, whereas on-screen on Euphoria, the actresses are normally wearing contrasting looks to reflect their characters' differing styles. Often, Maude's Lexi is wearing skirts and dresses with a twee feel while Sydney's Cassie is wearing fun, bombshell swimwear and minis.

See, don't believe everything you see on tv!
