There are piercings involved, of course.

Make-up artist Isamaya Ffrench has been busy. She's painted the world's most famous faces, from Kate Moss and Rihanna to Zendaya, she was the creative force behind Byredo and Burberry's make-up lines, and her Youtube channel is a treasure trove of useful tricks and techniques for aspiring MUAs and beauty lovers alike. Not to mention a burgeoning music career. So, what's next for this megastar artist? Her own make-up line, naturally.

But if you think Isamaya's eponymous range is yet another textbook collection of pretty lipsticks and neutral eye palettes, think again. Ffrench spent her illustrious career pushing boundaries, creating looks that challenge our perception of beauty. Alongside dreamy, glossy skin and a shimmering eye, you'll find otherworldly, alien-chic looks featuring intricate use of special effects make-up and prosthetics.

Accordingly, the multi-hyphenate's debut beauty line, ISAMAYA, is the best of both worlds. Taking a different approach to product drops, ISAMAYA is re-writing the beauty rules by launching tightly curated collections seasonally, similar to how high end fashion operates. A new season brings a new collection with a totally different theme depending on Isamaya's mood and vision for the upcoming quarter.

The debut range, which launches end of June, sees a five-piece vegan collection centred around an 'Industrial' theme.

'Industrial is a hardcore, hard-hitting concept both visually and materially. Leather and latex, piercings and rubber, flesh, strength, and self-possession, for make-up lovers who don’t want to conform,' said Isamaya in a statement. There's a 14-pan, multi-finish pigment eye palette (£95), an inky mascara (£35), a plumping high-shine lip gloss (£32), a clear brow gel (£30) and a hyaluronic glow serum (£60) to recreate her signature glassy skin.

Of course, everything comes in matte black packaging complete with ultra-cool silver piercings which can be re-purposed as wearable accessories. For all the merch-heads out there, you'll also find a selection of limited edition T-shirts and jewellery on the website.
